The control of the precise in-body image stabilization mechanism is used in Pixel Shift Multi Shooting. With a maximum magnification of 0.32x, the minimum focusing distance is 0.21 metres at 24 mm and 0.30 metres at 70 mm.

Fast, Precise AF and Excellent Response

Four of Sony's original XD (extreme dynamic) Linear Motors, a floating focus mechanism and advanced lens control achieve high AF precision. This lens has approximately 2x better tracking performance while zooming than the previous model. The lens can shoot at up to 30 frames per second when used with a compatible body. The redesigned aperture unit also contributes to high speed, allowing for full AF tracking performance even when shooting with the aperture stopped down.
